Seductive and emotionally guarded Tira (Mae West) is the much-adored circus performer whose newest suitor is married New York City socialite Kirk (Kent Taylor). Kirk’s cousin (Cary Grant), tries to convince Tira to end the affair. After falling for one another, love and happiness risk taking her from the stage, and her boss plots to break off the engagement and shackle her to the circus forever.
